Sheena R. Hamilton concentrates on commercial litigation and employment litigation along with internal investigations. Primarily Sheena defends corporations as well as government and quasi-government entities in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies across the United States. She leads management and strategy handling all aspects of litigation proceedings, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiation, trial and appeal.
Sheena regularly speaks and writes on emerging legal issues. An author of more than 20 articles in publications such as Missouri Business and St. Louis Lawyer, Sheena also has been quoted as an authority on legal matters by The New York Times, Law360, the Society for Human Resource Management and the ABA Journal.
Served as Counsel of Record before the United States Supreme Court on an employment matter regarding the standard for harm in cases brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Successfully argued at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit obtaining affirmation of summary judgment in favor of the City of St. Louis in an employment case regarding a transfer brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Received affirmation of summary judgment in favor of the City of St. Louis in an employment case regarding property interests in desired promotions.
Achieved unanimous defense verdict from a St. Louis County jury in favor of Missouri Baptist Medical Center following a two and a half week trial on a plaintiff’s claim of retaliation in violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act.
Obtained temporary restraining order and stipulated permanent injunction for client in matter involving enforcement of non-compete agreement in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
Received affirmation of summary judgment in favor of Central Transport International, Inc., our client in an FLSA wage and hour case before the Eighth Circuit.
Obtained temporary restraining order for client in matter involving former employee’s retention of sensitive, confidential patient health information following termination of employment in a Dallas, Texas district court.
