Rebecca (Becky) McLaughlin is an associate attorney at Dowd Bennett LLP with a versatile, high-stakes practice. She has represented criminal defendants alleged to be involved in multi-million-dollar fraud schemes, as well as Fortune 500 companies in product liability litigation involving allegations of serious bodily injury and death. In recent years, Becky has been on two successful jury trial teams. In 2021, Becky helped to secure a unanimous defense verdict in McMahan et al. v. Emerson Electric Co. et al., which was a product liability case involving a propane explosion that resulted in significant injuries. In 2023, Becky represented Monsanto in Mark McCostlin, et al., v. Monsanto—a case involving allegations that Monsanto’s Roundup product caused plaintiff’s Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The case was resolved in favor of the defense after Monsanto’s Motion for Directed Verdict was granted.

In addition to Becky’s litigation experience, she has developed a niche of conducting internal investigations for her corporate clients, handling time-sensitive, delicate matters involving allegations of sexual harassment, race and gender discrimination, and misuse of company funds.

Becky is a Georgetown University Law Center graduate where she served as a Co-Managing Editor for The Georgetown Law Journal. Becky previously clerked for the Hon. Audrey Fleissig and Hon. John Ross in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She is a member of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association and currently serves as a Member of the Board for the Women Lawyers’ Association.
