Jimmy L. Arce is a former federal prosecutor with extensive trial, investigation, and civil litigation experience. Jimmy represents corporations and individuals in various areas of commercial litigation in state and federal court. As a former federal prosecutor, Jimmy also represents clients in white collar criminal cases and investigations.
Before joining Dowd Bennett, Jimmy served for more than 9 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Illinois, serving in both the Civil and Criminal Divisions. He led complex investigations and prosecuted a wide range of federal criminal offenses, including violent crimes, firearm trafficking, RICO conspiracies, child exploitation, narcotics conspiracies, public corruption, and fraud schemes. During his time in the Civil Division, Jimmy investigated the Chicago Police Department as part of the Department of Justice Civil Rights Pattern and Practice Investigation, which resulted in a groundbreaking report published in January 2017, which led to a consent decree for the Chicago Police Department.
Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Jimmy clerked for a federal judge in Chicago, and also worked as an associate attorney in a mid-size law firm, gaining experience in products liability, commercial litigation, labor and employment, and insurance coverage matters.
