Prior to joining Dowd Bennett, John served as a judicial law clerk for one year to the Honorable Doris L. Pryor of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and for two years to the Honorable Sue E. Myerscough of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He served as an assistant public defender in Sangamon County, Illinois, between his clerkships. In law school, John was a Senior Editor for the University of St. Thomas School of Law Journal of Law and Public Policy. He also interned for the United States Attorney’s Offices for the District of Minnesota and the Central District of Illinois, as well as for then-Chair of the United States Senate Judiciary Committee Senator Dick Durbin.
