Sayler A. Fleming is a former United States Attorney who represents companies and individuals in white collar defense and government investigations, litigates complex civil disputes, and handles appeals. A seasoned trial and appellate advocate, she practices in state and federal courts and guides matters from investigation through trial and appeal.
As the Eastern District of Missouri’s top federal law enforcement official for over four years, Sayler directed thousands of prosecutions, oversaw the United States’ civil defense, and successfully set strategy and priorities for high-stakes matters across the District. Her leadership extended nationally through service on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee- including the Violent and Organized Crime Subcommittee, the Law Enforcement Coordination, Victim Assistance, and Community Relations Subcommittee- and as co-chair of the Digital Forensics Working Group. Before her appointment, she served more than a decade as a federal prosecutor, handling hundreds of matters through appeal.
Clients rely on Sayler’s front-line insights to anticipate investigative steps, engage effectively with agents and prosecutors, and position for declination, diversion, trial, or appeal. She helps clients navigate parallel investigations, digital evidence, and negotiations with the government while remaining trial-ready. Her extensive courtroom experience informs nuanced, strategic advocacy that advances clients’ interests across the full spectrum of litigation and appellate proceedings.
Earlier in her career, Sayler was an associate at Bryan Cave LLP in commercial litigation and appellate practice, and clerked for the Honorable Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr., on the Supreme Court of Missouri.
