Jack Danforth Honored by Missouri Lawyers Weekly

Dowd Bennett partner Jack Danforth was recently honored by Missouri Lawyers Media as an inaugural member of its ICON Awards class.  Danforth was one of 25 distinguished lawyers recognized for his “outstanding contribution to the Missouri legal community and strong leadership within and outside the field of law over the course of a career.”

Danforth, who was in statewide elective office for 26 years as both Missouri Attorney General and U.S. Senator, returned to St. Louis in 1995 where he has embarked on a number of civic projects including St. Louis 2004 and the reinvigoration of the Arch Grounds and downtown.  He led the federal investigation into the Branch Davidian siege at Waco, Texas, where he worked with Dowd Bennett partners Ed Dowd, Jim Martin and Gabe Gore.  In the George W. Bush administration, Danforth served as Special Envoy for Peace in Sudan as well as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
