Missouri Supreme Court Hears Oral Argument from Dowd Bennett Attorneys on Grain Belt Express Project
On April 3, 2018, Dowd Bennett Partners Jay Nixon and Jamie Rehmann presented oral argument to the Missouri Supreme Court on behalf of Clean Line Energy of Houston, Texas regarding an interstate electrical transmission project known as the Grain Belt Express, which would move clean, low-cost wind power from western Kansas through Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. The case involves an appeal of the Missouri Public Service Commission’s denial of regulatory approval for the project. In February, after hearing argument from Nixon and Rehmann, the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District found in favor of Clean Line and determined that the Public Service Commission erred, but transferred the case to the Missouri Supreme Court because of “the general interest or importance of the question involved.”
