Jack Danforth Opinion Piece on America’s Debt Crisis Appears in the Wall Street Journal

Dowd Bennett partner and former U.S. Senator Jack Danforth along with former Senate colleague Bob Kerrey wrote an opinion piece that appeared in the June21 edition of the Wall Street Journal.  Entitled, “How Long Can America Keep Borrowing?” the former senators outline the debt crisis they faced in 1994 as heads of the Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform and how much the crisis has deepened since then.  They go on to support a bipartisan measure being considered in Congress, “The Trust Act” which would create a process for avoiding insolvency of the major federal trust funds including Medicare, Social Security and highways.  The article can be found in the attached PDF, or on the Wall Street Journal’s website: How Long Can America Keep Borrowing.
