Dowd Bennett trial result named a Top Defense Verdict of 2012

On January 28, 2013 – Missouri Lawyers Weekly named the jury’s decision in Automation Service v. Emerson a top defense verdict of the year.  In this case, Emerson was sued for anti-trust and advertising damages by Automation Service, a competitor.  Automation Service filed 13 counts against Emerson and a co-defendant.  All counts against Emerson were resolved by motions to dismiss or summary judgment and the case proceeded to trial on the counterclaims. on which the jury awarded Dowd Bennett’s client more than $5.4 million.
