St. Louis, MO – Dowd Bennett LLP is proud to announce that Erika M. Anderson was elected equity partner in December, 2019. Erika defends individuals and large companies in complex civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts in multiple jurisdictions. She focuses on commercial litigation, environmental matters, breach of contract, employment law and white collar government investigations. She leads case management and strategy, and executes trials and preparation leading to trials, including motion practice, pretrial discovery, depositions, and expert retention and preparation.
Erika, who opened Dowd Bennett’s Boston office in July, 2019, successfully represents some of the nation’s largest employers and corporations in notoriously difficult venues and has served as lead counsel in jury trials in both state and federal court. She engages in all aspects of litigation — including appeals, alternative dispute resolution and communication with government entities and other stakeholders — to obtain creative and workable solutions for her clients.
During her recent tenure as an assistant attorney general for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Erika was co-lead attorney in an 11-day jury trial, achieving favorable verdicts on multiple larceny and fraud counts. She also worked with the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association to develop a policy statement about 21st-century policing in Massachusetts and managed her division’s intern program.
Erika’s writing has been featured in Missouri Lawyers Weekly and in the Mitchell Hamline Law Review.
