Contos v. Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc.

After successfully removing the lawsuit filed in the Circuit Court of the State of Missouri against its client, Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., to federal court, Dowd Bennett prevailed on its motion to dismiss plaintiff’s petition.

Herschel, et al. v. Nixon, et al.

In June of 2009, John Comerford successfully sued the Governor of the State of Missouri to prevent the termination of three Administrative Law Judges in the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation.

Ginsburg et al. v. InBev et al.

Dowd Bennett prevailed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, which denied a preliminary injunction that sought to stop InBev’s purchase of Anheuser-Busch.

Olson v. Halvorsen et al.

In November and December of 2008, Jim Bennett and John Comerford successfully represented Viking Global Investors LP, a hedge fund based in New York and Greenwich, Connecticut, in a trial before Vice Chancellor Stephen P. Lamb in the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Dubinsky et al. v. Mermart, LLC

After successfully removing the lawsuit from Missouri Circuit Court in the City of St. Louis to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Dowd Bennett prevailed on its motion to dismiss a subordinate bondholder action against its client, Mermart LLC.

Zoltek Inc. et al. v. Structural Polymer Group Ltd.

After successfully removing the lawsuit filed in state court by Zoltek against Dowd Bennett client Structural Polymer Group, Ltd., the firm successfully moved in federal court to dismiss all of Zoltek’s claims.

The Crawford Group, Inc. v. Holekamp

Dowd Bennett lawyers prevailed on appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, which upheld an arbitration award of $20.7 million to William Holekamp, a former executive of Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

Structural Polymer Group Ltd. et al. v. Zoltek Inc. et al.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit affirms the Dowd Bennett trial victory in Structural Polymer Group v. Zoltek. The appellate court affirmed the $21.1 million verdict and the district court denial of a motion for a new trial brought by Zoltek.

Cunningham v. Anna State Bank

Robert Epperson and Jim Bennett represented the largest non-insider shareholder of a bank holding company in a dispute regarding access to corporate books and records.
