Senator Jack Danforth interviewed by several media outlets regarding recent appointment of Special Counsel

Dowd Bennett Partner Jack Danforth was interviewed by a number of media outlets recently about his position as Special Counsel of the Waco investigation from 1999-2000.  Interest in Danforth’s role materialized after the announcement of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel into the investigation of Russian influence in the 2016 American elections.  Prior to Mueller’s appointment, Danforth was the only Special Counsel named under the current statute.   Dowd Bennett Partner Ed Dowd served as Danforth’s deputy during the Waco investigation while Dowd Bennett Partner Jim Martin was Director of Investigative Operations.  Dowd Bennett Partner Gabriel Gore also served as an assistant special counsel on the case.

Danforth’s advice to Mueller:  Make very clear what is being investigated as well as what isn’t.  Also, don’t tolerate leaks to the press.
