Dowd Bennett Obtains Dismissal of Charges Against Washington Post and Huffington Post Reporters

Dowd Bennett attorneys Gabriel Gore, Lisa Hoppenjans and Edward Dowd, Jr. obtained a dismissal of charges filed against Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery and Huffington Post reporter Ryan Reilly in connection with their arrests in a McDonald’s restaurant while covering protests in Ferguson, Missouri in August 2014.  The trespassing and interference with an officer charges were dismissed after Dowd Bennett filed a petition for a writ of prohibition arguing that St. Louis County did not have jurisdiction to file charges against Mr. Lowery and Mr. Reilly based on alleged conduct that occurred within the City of Ferguson.
