Structural Polymer Group Ltd. v. Zoltek, Inc.

In November 2006, our lawyers tried to verdict a four-week jury trial in the United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. The firm, along with Bryan Cave, represented Structural Polymer Group, a company based in the United Kingdom. The defendant was a St. Louis-based company traded on NASDAQ. Ed Dowd and Jim Bennett handled voir dire, the majority of witnesses on direct exam, cross examined all Zoltek witnesses, and presented closing argument. The jury awarded our client $36 million.

Vinson v. Vinson:

Our lawyers tried a multi-week dissolution case between the founders of a mortgage banking company that, in 2004, generated more that $3 billion in mortgages. The primary issues at trial were whether our client held an interest in the company and, if so, the value of that interest. After trial, the court declared that our client did hold an ownership interest in the company and adopted our approach to valuation.
