Megan Heinsz received her B.A., magna cum laude, in English with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999. She received her J.D., with honors, from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2002. In law school, she served as Articles Editor for the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.
Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Ms. Heinsz clerked for Judge Patricia Breckenridge on the Missouri Court of Appeals-Western District and Judge E. Richard Webber of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She worked as an associate at Bryan Cave LLP in the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Class and Derivative Actions, and Products Liability groups.
Ms. Heinsz has participated in all phases of motion practice for civil litigation matters in both federal and state court, including pre-trial, trial, and appellate briefs. She has trial experience in federal and state court, including two successful jury trials in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She also has experience in the defense of nationwide pharmaceutical product liability and class actions. She has experience in large-stakes appellate matters in the Missouri Court of Appeals and United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Eighth Circuit.
Ms. Heinsz is licensed in North Carolina and Missouri. She is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and Southern District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
