Mr. Bennett is a partner at Dowd Bennett LLP where he specializes in white collar criminal defense, commercial litigation, and appellate proceedings. Prior to starting his current firm in 2006 with Edward L. Dowd, Jr., he was a partner at Bryan Cave LLP. He graduated Order of Coif from Vanderbilt Law School and clerked for the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Hon. J. L. Edmondson, in Atlanta, Georgia, and for the Hon. Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. He was appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts to the Judicial Conference of the United States Rules Committee for the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. His three-year term started in 2005.

He has extensive trial experience in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and elsewhere. He has successfully tried four cases in federal court to verdict in the past two years and, in that same time period, also tried cases in St. Louis County Circuit Court and in the Circuit Court for Jefferson County. In November 2007, his client prevailed in a $100 million trial that was the longest (15 weeks) in St. Louis County history. In November 2006, his client prevailed in a 4 week jury trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and was awarded $21 million by the jury. He also has experience in international arbitration, having tried a two-week arbitration in New York before the American Arbitration Association International Centre for Dispute Resolution.

Mr. Bennett has extensive experience representing both corporations and individuals in proceedings before governmental agencies, such as the Commodities Futures Trading Commission and Securities and Exchange Commission, and in investigations of suspected criminal conduct. He has represented Fortune 500 companies as well as corporate executives and other individuals in cases involving securities fraud, environmental crimes, the wire wager act, mail fraud, wire fraud, and RICO claims. He has argued and handled appeals before several United States Circuit Courts of Appeals and in state courts in Missouri and elsewhere.
