Ms. Aspinall has significant trial experience, having been a member of the trial team in multiple cases tried to verdict and judgment. Her trial experience includes obtaining successful verdicts in trials in federal and state courts for multiple clients. In EEOC v. Wal-Mart Stores, Ms. Aspinall participated in successfully trying to jury verdict an Age Discrimination case in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Ms. Aspinall participated in all aspects of the trial, including assisting in the preparation of opening statement, closing arguments, and examination of witnesses. She also managed the presentation and organization of all exhibits at trial. In U.S. ex rel. Gonzalez v. Fresenius Medical Care, et al., Ms. Aspinall participated in successfully trying to jury verdict a seven-count False Claims Act case in a month long trial in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. Ms. Aspinall acted as second-chair trial counsel in Erickson v. U-Haul International, Inc., et al., a products liability case pending in Nebraska Fourth District Court that was successfully tried to jury verdict. She participated in all aspects of the trial, including assisting in the preparation of opening statement, closing arguments, witnesses, and cross-examination.
Ms. Aspinall has been a member of trial teams for multiple pharmaceutical companies facing nationwide litigation. Ms. Aspinall led an expert discovery team that prepared testifying medical experts for local and national trials. She was part of the trial team in Schwaller v. Merck, a case that resulted in a defense verdict in the dangerous jurisdiction of Madison County, Illinois.
Ms. Aspinall has extensive experience representing corporations in employment matters. She has defended claims of discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment in federal court, state court and administrative agencies. She has appeared before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, and the Missouri Division of Employment Security.
Ms. Aspinall has also participated in all phases of pre-trial proceedings and has appellate experience. In her national practice she has represented multinational corporations in matters in the Western District of Texas, the Middle District of Tennessee, and Illinois, Nebraska, New Jersey, and Rhode Island state courts.
Ms. Aspinall received her law degree, order of the coif, from Washington University School of Law. In law school, Ms. Aspinall served as Associate Editor for the Washington University Law Quarterly. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Aspinall worked as an associate at Bryan Cave LLP in the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Class and Derivative Actions, and Products Liability groups.
